Employees receiving gratuities

Wages and overtime are calculated in the following manner:
  1. first, you must determine if overtime hours were worked during the week;
  2. next, you must calculate the wages according to the information entered;
Note

This tool is not intended for an employee subject to the Regulation respecting minimum labour standards in certain sectors of the clothing industry. The tool enables an employee remunerated by the week to check if the minimum wage rate has been respected. However, the calculation method does not apply to certain categories of employees remunerated by the week who are not entitled to the premium rate (see section 54 of the Act). The tool may be used to make retroactive calculations over a period of one year, from the date of the day. It does not take into account the longer prescription period that applies in the case of forestry workers.

For more information, you can contact the Service des renseignements at the Commission.
