An employee may be absent from work for a period of not more than 52 weeks if the employee’s spouse or child commits suicide.

An employee whose spouse (see the definition and interpretation of the word "spouse" in section 1 3) ALS) or child (regardless of whether the child is a minor or not) commits suicide is entitled to be absent from work without pay.
