Part II - Regulations adopted under the Act respecting labour standards
Order respecting the retail food trade (S.Q., 1979, c. 45; after revision: R.S.Q., c. N-1.1)
Ordinance no 14, 1973, was approved on March 7, 1973, under Order in Council 783-73. It came into force on March 14, 1973. It was further amended by Orders in Council 2202-73, 4221-76, 1802-77, 4255-77, 1957-78, 3041-78, 349-80, 755-80 and 873-81. The following is the consolidated version which came into force on August 1, 1982.
Definitions: In this order, the following words mean:
a) «retail food trade establishment»:
any establishment whose main activity, according to the Commission des normes du travail is the retail sale of food stuffs for consumption off the premises.
However, the words "retail food trade establishment" do not mean establishments restricted to the sale of dairy products, pastry, biscuits, candy and chocolate, and coldcuts;
b) « region I »:
the Island of Montréal, Île Jésus, Île Perrot, Île Bizard, Île Saint-Paul, Île Bigras, Île des Soeurs and the municipalities located within a 10 mile radius of the limits of the Island of Montréal.
L'Assomption, l'Épiphanie, Saint-Paul-l'Ermite, Repentigny, Charlemagne, Saint-Charles-de-Lachenaie, Saint-Maurice, Bois-des-Filion, Rosemère, Lorraine, Saint-Eustache, Dorion, Vaudreuil, Pointe-des-Cascades, the Indian Reservation, Verchères, Varennes, Boucherville, Longueuil, Saint-Lambert, Greenfield Park, Brossard, Sainte-Catherine-d'Alexandrie-de-Laprairie, Saint-Hubert, Saint-Bruno, Chambly, Lemoyne, La Prairie, Candiac, Châteauguay, Châteauguay-Centre, Saint-Isidore, Saint-Constant, Léry, Maple Grove, Beauharnois, Melocheville, Terrebonne, Sainte-Thérèse, Sainte-Thérèse-Ouest, Mercier, Deux-Montagnes, Delson, Mascouche, Pincourt, Oka, Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, Pointe-Calumet and Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac; and the electoral districts of Jean-Talon, Louis-Hébert, Limoilou, Saint-Sauveur, Chauveau, Lévis and Montmorency, as also the town of Bélair and the municipalties of Val Saint-Michel, Saint-Charles, Saint-Étienne-de-Beaumont and Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures;
c) « region II »:
the cities and towns of Chicoutimi, Chicoutimi-Nord, Saint-Jean-Eudes, Rivière-du-Moulin, Port-Alfred, Bagotville and the area within a 10 mile radius of their limits; and the cities and towns of Jonquière, Kénogami, Arvida and a 5 mile radius of their limits.
